Second Program Benchmark Achieved!

Access Lower Pricing Through the Grow Solar Group Buy

Hello friend,

The Grow Solar Central Wisconsin group buy has reached its second benchmark: 150 kW of installed solar.

Thanks to participating property owners, program pricing has now dropped below its already reduced rate. Pricing can drop even further as participation grows toward the next benchmark of 250 kW.

Homeowners, nonprofits, farmers, and businesses in Marathon, Lincoln, Portage, Waupaca, Waushara, and Wood counties have until September 30 to participate.

Mill Creek Gardens in Marshfield participated in the 2025 Grow Solar Central Wisconsin program, and Northwind Solar designed and installed its 25 kW ground-mounted solar array.

The 42-panel system generates approximately 33,092 kWh a year, offsetting about 31% of the property’s current electricity use. Mill Creek Gardens also received a $3,717 group-buy discount.

A Group-Buy Participant’s Savings Story

The Lincoln County Animal Shelter, a participant in the 2025 program, reported that its WPS bill dropped from more than $600 in June 2025 to $54.16 after its solar installation.

As Liz Friedenfels, the shelter’s director, shared, “The money saved will help us care for even more animals in the future.”
